The Brick, hosted an event, sponsored by Cloud Perspective, to celebrate its 137 hard-working volunteers during National Volunteers Week.
The volunteer event celebrated each and every volunteer with personalised gifts incorporating words from the people that The Brick supports, illustrating not only why each volunteer is appreciated, but how each volunteer makes a difference to the charity.
Along with The Brick’s volunteers, the event was attended by The Brick’s staff and supporters, Wigan Council’s Service Manager in Crisis Intervention and Prevention, David Gray and sponsor, Cloud Perspective.

Volunteer Coordinator at The Brick, Fiona Robinson, said: “We really couldn’t do what we do at The Brick without the ongoing commitment and support of our volunteers.
\”We now have 137 volunteers who all give up their spare time to work at The Brick across all our services, from helping out at our night shelters through to preparing meals and working in our shops. They really do help and support the people in our community, who need it the most.
\”This, our first Volunteer Celebration event, was a huge success and was a celebration of all of our volunteers who are an integral part of our workforce, illustrating how they go above and beyond day after day. It was our way to say thank you to each and every volunteer and I would like to thank Cloud Perspective as without their support this event would not have been possible ”
Miranda Pocock, co-owner at Cloud Perspective, said: “We were delighted to sponsor this event as we see the dedication and hard work the volunteers at The Brick provide.
“We thought that an event, focusing on the volunteers, was a great way for The Brick to show their appreciation and by celebrating each and every volunteer, the night really was very special.”
The Volunteer Celebration event included a presentation of gifts for the volunteers, live music by local acoustic artist Joe Astley, speeches by The Brick’s CEO Louise Green, Wigan Council’s David Gray and Cloud Perspective’s co-owners Martyn Leman and Miranda Pocock and culminated in a fun quiz and raffle.
