What did you think of the Agile Project Management course you followed?

I found the course to be very insightful and valuable for my role here as a data consultant. The course structure was easy to follow, it contained clear explanations, and the quizzes at the end of each topic were a great way to test my knowledge. Completing the Agile PM foundation before the practitioner is an effective way to understand the course content without finding it too overwhelming. When working on projects of various sizes and leading some of them, it’s vital to understand the roles of the different teams and team members. Studying Agile Project Management has helped me feel confident in leading projects from their initial stages to project close-off and effectively communicating with all team members and business stakeholders.

What Agile methodologies have you found most effective in managing technical Data projects?

The principles covered in the Agile Project Management course have been invaluable in shaping the trajectory of my current projects. Using agile methods such as MOSCOW prioritisation has been beneficial in prioritising my work and project requirements. Learning about the different project phases in an entire project lifecycle has helped me to scope and write SOWs and sprint plans for small and large projects. The course went into depth on maintaining clear and effective communication throughout a project lifecycle, as it’s a vital component for a successful project. I have employed agile techniques in the projects I’m working on, including daily/weekly Scrum meetings to discuss the project’s progress and next steps with the other team members.

Looking back, how do you think this course has prepared you for future challenges as a Data Consultant?

I have been applying my new skills around Agile Project Management more and more to large-scale projects. This involves accurately scoping the work, creating sprint and deployment plans, and assigning roles and responsibilities to the project team members. The tools and techniques from the course have given me the confidence to lead projects, communicate effectively with business stakeholders, and build strong relationships with clients and team members. Furthermore, knowing how to adapt to tight project timelines and unforeseen complexities has helped me mitigate risks, maintain confidence, and ensure successful project delivery.

Are there any other courses or areas of professional development you’re looking to explore to enhance your skills further?

Looking ahead, I am eager to delve deeper into advanced project management qualifications and increase my knowledge of Salesforce with qualifications such as certified Salesforce data architect and business analyst. I’m also keen to advance my skills in cloud computing platforms like Informatica, AWS, and Microsoft Azure to strengthen my technical knowledge of the tools used in data projects. Developing my knowledge of these platforms will help me manage the successful delivery of many data projects.
